Climate Change Action Plan

Let’s create a Resilient Richmond Hill – together
More frequent and extreme weather events such as, heavy rain, wind, ice storms and heat waves are putting our community and others around the world, at risk.
Our Resilient Richmond Hill initiative aims at mitigating climate change (by lowering our GHG emissions) and adapting to climate change (by planning for weather extremes). We all have a role to play and it’s important that we take action now.
Community Energy and Emissions Plan
The goal of the Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP) is to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 by greatly reducing our GHG emissions and not emitting more than we offset. To be successful, the City, other levels of government, environmental partners, businesses and residents must all work together.
