Distinguished Budget Presentation
The Town won the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officer's Association of the United States and Canada for the 1999 budget. The Town's budget presentation was assessed on how well it served as a policy document, a financial plan, operations guide, and a communicating device. The Town was recognized as an excellent example for other governments throughout North America. Richmond Hill was the second municipality in Ontario to ever receive this award.
Multimedia Promotional Campaign
In September 1999, Richmond Hill was awarded first place for its Multimedia Promotional Campaign by the Economic Developers Association of Canada.
