The Town of Richmond Hill's Community Services Department has many opportunities for individuals to volunteer at Events and in Recreational Programs, which include placements in Pre-School, Children's, Youth, Adult and Seniors' Programs, as well as Holiday, March Break and Summer Camp Programs. High school students can also fulfill their required volunteer hours. In addition, a number of opportunities also exist to become involved in the Natural Heritage Stewardship Program.
Events include the
Santa Claus Parade,
Canada Day,
Concerts in the Park, park openings and various other events. Volunteer positions for Events are advertised in the
Community Recreation Guide, as well as at local high school guidance offices.

Tree Planting and Natural Heritage Stewardship Program
The Natural Heritage Stewardship Program offers opportunities for people to actively participate in environmental programs aimed at improving the quality of our natural areas and to encourage environmental stewardship amongst other residents of the Town. Some of the stewardship projects you can get involved in include, tree planting, woodlot restoration, stream rehabilitation, monitoring and invasive weed removal.
The Town is always looking for volunteers and welcomes anyone who would like to dedicate time, both ongoing or on a one-time basis. If you are interested, simply fill out the Registration Form and the Areas of Interest Form below, so that we can determine a project best suited to your interests.
High school students can also fulfill their required volunteer hours by participating in Natural Heritage projects by completing and returning the high school volunteer registration form.
