Downtown Design & Land Use Strategy
The Downtown Design & Land Use Strategy is one of the “area studies” that was undertaken as part of the development of the Town’s new Official Plan. The Downtown Strategy Final Report was approved by Council on June 23, 2009. It addresses all of the goals outlined in the Town's new Strategic Plan and will provide guidance for downtown land use and urban design policies. Town Hall Relocation
As a result of public consultation on whether to build a new Town Hall in Downtown Richmond Hill, Council directed staff to research alternative financing options and success factors for comparable capital projects. Village Core Façade Assistance Program
If you are a downtown property owner with a Yonge Street façade, you may be interested in the Town’s Village Core Façade Assistance Program . Through this program, you can apply for matching funds up to a maximum of $10,000 to improve the exterior of your building in accordance with the Town’s Walk this Way [PDF] guidelines for building and façade restoration.
