Richmond Hill – Faster, Higher, Stronger! Highlighting Athletes with Connections to Our Community |
The Olympics always seem to bring out that competitive spirit and national pride in everyone. The whole world will be watching Canada’s 277 athletes at the 30th Summer Olympic Games taking part in London, England from July 27 – August 12 and our 150 athletes at the Paralympic games from August 29 – September 9. And what you may not know is, like previous Olympic Games, the world will also be getting a little taste of Richmond Hill!
Competing on this world stage are several athletes with ties to Richmond Hill and our community. Follow our athletes and help cheer them on over the next several weeks!
Josh Binstock A Richmond Hill resident, Josh will looking to bring home the gold in the Beach Volleyball Men’s Pairs event from July 28 to August 9!
Jason Burnett Jason trains at SkyRiders in Richmond Hill and will be competing in Men’s Trampoline on August 3.
Karen Cockburn The most decorated trampolinist in Canadian Olympic history, Karen is also a SkyRiders’ product . She’ll look to add to her medal total on August 4 in Women’s Trampoline.

Michele Li A champion badminton player with roots in Richmond Hill, 21 year old Michele will be taking part in Women’s Badminton Singles and Doubles July 28 to August 4.
Rosie MacLennan Rosie, who also trains at SkyRiders trampoline, is a medal hopeful in Women’s Trampoline also on August 4.
Milos Raonic The tennis phenom, Milos used to train in Richmond Hill and will look to take gold in Men’s Singles July 28 to August 5.
