Council Proclaims “Coaches Week”
Council proclaimed the week of April 14 - 21, 2007 as “Coaches Week” in and for the Town of Richmond Hill. Coaches Week has been designed by Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) and began in 2006 to encourage more Ontario residents to become actively involved in their community by becoming a team coach. "Ready, Set, Coach!" is the driving theme behind an exciting initiative to recruit, develop and celebrate Ontario's coaches. CAO is planning a special, week-long celebration in dozens of communities across the province with activities featuring free workshops targeting new coaches, women, aboriginals and teacher coaches. Through a wide range of fun and interactive events, close to 1,000 coaches (from the novice to the veteran), will benefit from access to experienced mentors, free resource materials, and various networking opportunities. For more information on Coaches Week, visit the CAO Website at www.coachesontario.ca (From Council Meeting held on Monday, March 19, 2007; New Business).
The next Committee of the Whole Meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 26, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. and the next Council Meeting is Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Both of these meetings will be held in Council Chambers.
